SR 429 Interchange Design
Orange County, Florida
RS&H designed and prepared plans and specifications for a new fully directional, four-level interchange between SR 429 and Florida’s Turnpike. The improvements included new construction of directional ramps, flyovers, at-grade intersections with and without signals, and at-grade roadways that provided for local traffic circulation. The project required complex freeway design, complex bridge and structures design, maintenance of traffic plans, utility coordination, drainage design and permitting, signing and pavement marking, signalization, lighting plans, and stormwater management and permitting.
I-95 Palm Beach International Airport Direct Connector Final Design
Palm Beach County, Florida
RS&H was selected as part of the final design team for this project consisting of a highly complex four-level, directional ramp system set over two existing interchanges and provisions for future high-occupancy lanes. Also included in the project design were highly complex maintenance of traffic plans including detailed phasing for temporary closure of I-95 for bridge construction as well as two major rail crossings that required coordination with rail users to avoid rail interruptions during construction.
