RS&H provided architectural and engineering design for Ranbaxy Pharmaceuticals new distribution center. The project consists of a 224,000-square-foot conditioned warehouse and a 20,000-square-foot office building adjacent to the warehouse. A 60,000-square-foot warehouse expansion and a 10,000-square-foot office expansion can be accommodated on the site.
The building’s shell construction consists of concrete tilt-up wall panels and a modified bitumen roof over metal deck and bar joists. A 50-foot by 40-foot bay spacing with a minimum clear height of 30 feet is provided throughout the warehouse. A 1,700-square-foot DEA approved vault is provided within the warehouse with provisions for a future cooler adjacent to the vault. The warehouse space is conditioned to 75 degrees by twenty, 20-ton roof top units. A 60-ton Trane Intellipak unit with full VAV control is provided for the office. The facility has nine dock high doors with provisions for ten future doors.
Site work included site layout, grading, paving, site utilities, storm water management, and landscaping for 16 acres of a 21-acre site. A 2.7-acre detention pond is designed to service the entire 21-acre site.
