Learn about RS&H’s Architectural Services.
RS&H was commissioned to redesign the façade lighting of this iconic 28-floor pre-cast, post-tensioned concrete structure. Existing lighting dated to 1966 and was overdue for replacement. The design team began by gathering information on the existing electrical system and evaluating the physical parameters affecting the placement of lighting equipment.
A computerized lighting analysis was performed to determine the optimum luminaire selection, placement & aiming. During this process, RS&H worked closely with the lighting manufacturer to ensure precise results. Metal halide was chosen as the light source best suited to illuminate the white precast structure.
The completed project displays an improved appearance while using less energy.
Additional services included a redesign of the main elevator lobby lighting and a Survey/Analysis of all exterior lighting on site with recommendations for improvements.
