Learn about our design of LEED/Sustainable Buildings.
RS&H was the LEED Consultant for the 3,900-square-foot TD Bank Cypress Creek branch located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This branch was designed to meet numerous sustainability criteria. The project required special assistance and planning with the general contractor team, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and owner’s representatives for the execution of the LEED credits pursued. RS&H implemented the LEED policies for the project and visited the site weekly to ensure they were being followed by everyone.
The branch bank was specifically designed to be a Net-Zero Energy project, which required more than 400 solar panels to be installed on site that power the facility. The project required special coordination with the utility provider, Florida Power and Light, for the solar photovoltaic system. The project received LEED Platinum certification for many sustainable attributes, including a reflective roof, low-emitting materials, 95 percent waste diversion during construction, 70 percent of wood products containing FSC certified wood, a 48 percent reduction in potable water use through the installation of waterless urinals and low-flow fixtures, daylighting and views for occupants, and a green cleaning policy.
