Aircraft Parking Apron P-265

RS&H provided airfield engineering services for an expansion of the P3 Orion aircraft parking apron at the VP-30 Hangar. The project encompassed 35,122 square meters of new 0.031-meter thick Portland Cement Concrete apron, which was constructed on compacted sub-grade.  Our team provided an improved aircraft parking layout design, in compliance with Navy planning standards, which maximized utilization of the expanded apron final geometry.  Project elements included relocation of taxiway lighting and design of a 150-meter long jet blast deflector.
