The Borland-Groover Clinic selected RS&H to design a new administrative clinic building and an MRI expansion for the south campus location in Jacksonville, Florida. The administrative facility is a 12,000-square-foot expansion located on the west side of the existing building and tying into the existing service yard. This building will house the executive suite for Borland-Groover and will allow the existing third floor to be back filled with clinical space.
Executive, financial, and human resource functions currently housed in the main campus will be relocated to create new clinical space in the existing facility. The expansion is shaped to work with the flow of existing patient and vehicular traffic, and provide lake views to all executive offices and lobby spaces.
As part of the program, RS&H designed a next-generation data center to support growth, ensure security, and optimize performance.
The 1,300-square-foot MRI expansion will provide a single source for services to their patients. The overall goal of the project is to increase the patients’ positive experience with the Borland-Groover Clinic. The expanded services will increase patient flow and patients will experience a more soothing environment with a sense of place.
The expansion ties into the existing structure, maintaining the integrity of the original exterior architecture. The interior spaces - which are made up of the control room, MRI suite, equipment room, reaction room, and radiologist reading room – are organized for maximum use within a small footprint and focused on patient comfort. RS&H provided all architecture, engineering, interiors, and equipment coordination for this project.
