RS&H provided architecture, interior design, engineering, and construction administration services for an Innovation Center in the burgeoning Medical City at Lake Nona. The 30,000-square-foot design includes the first-floor foothold of a 92,000-square-foot, three-story multi-tenant building. The high-tech facility will provide incubator, lab, and office space specially designed for health and science technology companies.
The vision for the facility was to “create the ideal place that inspires human potential through innovative collaboration.” To achieve this important ambition, RS&H worked closely with the facility’s planning group. We conducted several collaboration meetings to reach a consensus on every detail of the unique space – from schematic design to FF&E. The meetings also required presentations to the user group to ensure the design satisfied all stakeholder goals. The close collaboration not only realized an efficient and inspirational design solution, but also secured a faster speed to market for the facility, a vital goal in the project delivery.
The 30,000-square-foot design features six core “Centers of Excellence,” including “Advanced Integrated Delivery of Care and Digital Health” and “Next Generation Analytics”. Included in the facility are a variety of spaces including prototype, communal work, small and large convertible, and event spaces; a living lab area; a café as well as outdoor space. RS&H’s forward-thinking design will provide a space that conveys the client's distinctive brand and vision, and where healthcare pioneers can converge to revolutionize the industry.
