Bryan Nicol Joins RS&H as Chief Strategy Officer
[Jacksonville, FL] RS&H is pleased to announce that Bryan Nicol has joined the national architecture, engineering and consulting (AEC) firm as Chief Strategy Officer. Nicol will lead the development and execution of the firm’s strategic initiatives, short- and long-term growth objectives, and new business and expansion opportunities, working closely with RS&H’s senior leadership team.
“Bryan’s unique blend of experience in the public sector and in private-sector business and AEC consulting roles complements the strengths of our leadership team,” said Chief Executive Officer Dave Sweeney. He went on to add, “We are excited to see how Bryan will leverage his diverse background to elevate our approach to strategy through research, process and insights as we continue to grow in all our national markets.”

Nicol has 17 years of private-sector business operations, consulting and advisory experience with firms including Deloitte, Accenture and multiple top-ranked global AEC firms. He has held a broad range of senior leadership roles, including global and regional business leader, business developer, strategy advisor, technology director, marketing/sales leader, client account lead, business consultant, global industry advisor and delivery executive. He also served 18 years in public-sector leadership roles with the State of Indiana, including as commissioner and deputy commissioner of the Indiana Department of Transportation. During his tenure with the State of Indiana, Nicol worked for four governors and two attorneys general.
Nicol is a former president and vice president of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials and is a current planning and design division board member of the American Road and Transportation Builders Association. He also serves as a member of the Orange County, Virginia Planning Commission and as an advisory board member for LOWLINC, a local non-profit supporting the elderly population in Virginia.
Nicol holds a Juris Doctorate from the Indiana University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Evansville. Nicol is admitted to the Indiana Bar.
