Chris Gossett, PE, Joins RS&H As South Carolina Transportation Leader
[Charleston, SC] – Employee-owned, national engineering, architecture and consulting firm RS&H recently welcomed Chris Gossett, PE, as Associate Vice President and South Carolina Transportation Leader. With a 35-year career in programming, funding and delivering large infrastructure projects that includes 25 years with the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT), Gossett will be an integral part of RS&H’s expansion of services across the country. Gossett’s career at the SCDOT created a direct line of sight and knowledge about integral infrastructure projects throughout South Carolina like 1-73, Florence Area Transportation Study (FLATS) Metropolitan Planning Organization, and the Pee Dee Regional Council of Governments, among other pivotal projects and initiatives in the state.

Gossett received his Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from The Citadel – The Military College of South Carolina and is a licensed engineer in six states including South Carolina. He previously served as an Army Signal Officer in the South Carolina National Guard and commanded a successful career with SCDOT where he rose from engineering technician to program manager, as well as served as deputy director of transportation for Richland County, before transitioning to consulting.
Over the course of his career, Gossett has managed large, complex design-bid-build and design-build projects for SCDOT, Horry County, and Charleston County. His understanding of DOT processes, stellar project management skills and connections will be instrumental in deepening client relationships, creating new opportunities, and solidifying RS&H’s role in the industry.
