[Jacksonville, Fla.] – RS&H announced the promotion of Tom Everett, PE, to the position of senior vice president in the employee-owned engineering, architecture, and consulting firm’s business growth strategy team.
An internationally recognized transportation authority and former executive director of the Federal Highway Administration (FWHA) with over three decades of experience, Everett brings a lifetime of engineering and policy expertise to his role at RS&H.
“Working with RS&H has allowed me to continue connecting with the leadership of state departments of transportation, local agencies, and industry groups to make positive differences in communities,” said Everett. “RS&H truly values my ability to lead strategic initiatives, and I look forward to taking this next step in my career.”
Since joining RS&H in 2022, Everett has been responsible for strategy and advisory services supporting the company’s sales growth and geographical expansion and adding new service lines related to RS&H’s national infrastructure practice, among many other initiatives.
One such initiative is his passion for championing mental health awareness in the A/E/C industry. While at FHWA, he led their mental health awareness campaign and ensured agency leadership and staff had mental health awareness training. At RS&H, he has spoken at industry events, hosted numerous webinars, joined podcast discussions, and written articles to shine a spotlight on the importance of mental health awareness in the industry.
“Tom is truly one of a kind and an invaluable asset to our firm. His innovative ideas and stellar reputation in the industry have significantly contributed to the growth of not only RS&H but our communities, as well,” said Jim Hullett, Executive Vice President of Business Growth Strategy at RS&H. “This promotion is a well-deserved recognition of his exceptional contributions and unwavering dedication.”
As an RS&H thought leader, Everett has delivered presentations, developed white papers, and written journal articles on topics including bridge inspection, resilience, and leadership. He worked with RS&H’s human resources department to develop a curriculum for an “Officer Leadership Summit” and delivered a session to new leaders on strategic thinking, communications, and decision-making as part of that training.
Everett also serves as the lead contact for RS&H at American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials events.
